We will miss John at daily mass, coffee at HyVee after mass and being a greeter at weekend masses.
John was one of the most outgoing, gregarious persons we know. He knew an extraordinary number of people in our large parish, everyone who worked at the Noland Rd HyVee and most likely most of the tenants and walkers at Independence Center mall. He loved to make people feel good and laugh.
We became good friends by being with him most weekdays at mass. John loved filling in as altar server and held the outer chapel door open no matter the weather as a courtesy and to greet everyone as they left. Susan knew he felt something special for her when he called her Susan Lynn.
John leaves a big hole in our lives, but we know that this good man is enormously happy now.

Years ago (80's) while working at Lake City, I met John Monty. He was always energetic, smiling, happy, and had kind words to say. When someone stays in your memory they are never gone. Sympathy to John's family and friends during this time.

As an usher at St. Mark’s, John would always greet you with a friendly smile. The parisoners at St. Mark’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 6794 have lost a great person.
