I met Jim at Willshire 2 days after his 100th birthday. I was a student CNA there doing clinicals and I walked into his room to pass water and ice. He was opening up some birthday cards and asked me if I had ever seen those types of cards. 45 minutes later we had talked about everything from how times have changed to raising kids and traveling. I didnt see him again for a week. He wasnt doing very well by then so I just sat in his room and read him a story out of a Smithsonian magazine he had. We talked off and on quietly for about an hour that evening. He was a remarkable man, in just the little bit I spent with him I learned so much. I've thought about him every day since the day I met him. I pray for peace for his family. God Bless.
